Noordoostelijke Stroom: Calluna Typeface Book

This is a booklet I designed in my typography class at University of Missouri - St. Louis. We were given a variety of typefaces to choose from, and the goal was a 10+ spread booklet highlighting the typeface.

Calluna is a typeface created by Dutch designer Jos Buivenga. I chose the typeface because it has great ligatures and I'm a sucker for ligatures. In my research I found out that Calluna has an interesting story behind it's creation; I'll leave links for more info about the typeface and where to find it at the end of the post.

The name "Noordoostelijke Stroom" is Dutch, and loosely translates to "northern stream," in reference to how the typeface's creator described his own typeface as having "directional flow." Please enjoy the spreads!
